Boutique Charlevoix & Truchon à la maison
The go-to destination for discovering the talent and uniqueness of Charlevoix artists is now located at 1045 rue Richelieu, nestled within the breathtaking architectural wonder that is L’Île Mystérieuse.
Local crafts
There, you’ll find warmth both in the welcome and in the sincere love bestowed upon the handmade heterogenous pieces within. Cushions featuring buttoned Charlevoix stars, catalognes of all sizes, island table linen with maritime appliques, local jewellery, socks, crochet plush toys, engravings of the village of Port-au-Persil and handmade soaps... there’s a little bit of everything.
The art gallery component unfolds through sculptural works: Jules Brisson’s birds, Martin Brisson’s stone flowers or metal fish, Jean-François Lettre’s mycoengraved wood assemblages. Painters are also featured, including the summits of Raynald Bourdeau and the pop colours of Pierre Bouchard, to name but a few.
Then finally comes the gourmet part, where a large freezer offers delicious dishes, sous-vide and easy to reheat, produced right next door in the kitchen of Chez Truchon: the famous pudding chômeur, a squash barley risotto, a real Charlevoix tourtière and rabbit in mustard sauce.
Jams and other regional products can be found on the neighbouring shelf, as well as exceptional kitchen knives with Japanese steel blades assembled in Montreal, wine glasses, breadboards and anything else you might need or want to complete the «Truchon à la maison» experience.
