The story begins with the mythical Balcon Vert, an undeniable creative hub where artists and bohemian travellers have gathered since 1974. The adventure, which ended after 40 years in 2014, was reborn under the name Auberge des Balcons.
Les Balcons, now entering its third era, occupies new premises, still in the emblematic Maison Mère, a former convent that has become a building teeming with cultural life and businesses, contributing to the daily life and influential reach of the city. Now on three floors, its large upper balconies, facing the St. Lawrence, have put the establishment on the map.
There are common living areas and accommodations for all types of travellers. A perfect offer for group holidaymakers.

With this latest move, Bistro des Balcons was born, offering comfort food that will warm your heart in winter and lend a vibrant and bustling feel to all your summer gatherings. The outdoor terrace is a great place to have a drink and chat, whether you’re a local or just passing through.

Offering a multidisciplinary cultural space, where you can enjoy an intimate show, one-of-a-kind party or memorable DJ set, Les Balcons knows how to set itself apart. If you’re looking for peace and quiet, step outside and follow Chemins des Soeurs, which will lead you down to the river.

Always driven by this creative spirit, a wind of change animates the team. The goal is to preserve this idea of community and to continue to nourish the essence of the project, which, from the very start, has always been to provide a space for artistic creation and dissemination.

Les Balcons offers year-round programming and collaborates with organizations such as le Festif! to promote culture. The future is promising: the young and dynamic team wants to establish an artist residency program, as well as implement live sessions in the form of laid-back musical gatherings.
